My journey into bookkeeping began earlier than most—as a teenager reconciling my parents' accounts. That early exposure revealed something I hadn't expected: I loved the challenge of making numbers tell a clear, accurate story

At just 19 years old, I began my teaching career—a role I held for 15 years. Teaching shaped me profoundly, developing the patience, communication skills, and ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms. These skills would prove invaluable, though I didn't know it yet. Even while teaching, I was drawn to bookkeeping, helping small businesses on the side and discovering my passion for bringing clarity to financial chaos.

My Journey to Thriving Numbers

  • In 2009, while raising young children, I took a leap and started my own bookkeeping business. Those early years taught me invaluable lessons about flexibility, client relationships, and the profound difference that personalized financial management makes for small business owners. I wasn't just processing transactions—I was empowering entrepreneurs to understand their numbers and make confident decisions

    But I wanted to deepen my expertise. From 2011 to 2025, I moved into the corporate world, where I spent years developing expertise across multiple industries. I thrived on diving deep into financial data, uncovering insights, and watching businesses make better decisions because of clear, organized numbers. The more complex the analysis, the more energized I became.

    Yet something was missing. In corporate, I was one piece of a large machine. I missed the direct relationships with business owners—being the person who could transform their financial chaos into clarity and confidence. I wanted to see the immediate impact of my work on real people building their dreams.

    As my expertise grew, I became a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor, mastering the tools and systems that make bookkeeping not just accurate, but strategic. I realized my true calling wasn't just keeping books or analyzing corporate data—it was helping business owners thrive by freeing them from financial overwhelm.

    In 2025, I decided to fully embrace this mission. I rebranded as Thriving Numbers Bookkeeping, ready to serve clients with the depth of experience and passion I've cultivated over more than two decades.

    I firmly believe that when people can focus on what they do best, they're empowered to thrive—and thriving individuals build stronger communities and a better world.

    My teaching background gave me the gift of clear communication and patience. My entrepreneurial journey taught me empathy and understanding of small business challenges. My corporate years taught me analysis and precision at the highest level. Together, they've made me the bookkeeper I am today—someone who doesn't just manage your numbers, but helps you truly understand them and what they mean for your business.

    When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, jigsaw puzzles, and being outdoors.
